In my series, Human/Nature, I combine images to explore tensions and connections in people's relationships to the natural world. With my queer gaze, I create narratives to capture the complexity of both belonging to and being estranged from one's environment and one's history. I use the literal and metaphorical notion of the edge to address endings, beginning memories, and conjectures. These photographs create uneasy dialogues to push towards transformation. They are deliberate efforts to counter stasis by seeking wholeness a world that has become increasingly disinterested and antagonistic to humane and environmental concerns.
