Installations > Un-Titled

Many books have been challenged and banned for decades in the United States, including such publications as Charlotte's Web, The Color Purple and The Great Gatsby. This installation includes a pile of wood and books ready to be burned as well as video that alternates between video images of a cozy fire burning in a hearth and fascist book burning in Germany during the 1930's and 40's. The cozy fire represents my concerns about complacency regarding freedom of the press, free speech and freedom to read.
